Music

Today is a band ”D” day
All band night tomorrow night
8:30 - 6th grade flute and clarinet
9:00 – 6th grade saxophones – Dylan, Sarah, Paige, Ryan
9:45 – 6th grade trumpets, trombone, baritone horn.
10:15 - 6th grade French horn
11:15 - Wind Ensemble

Sports

The Boys Lacrosse teams (7th & 8th) will meet with Coach Palmer immediately after school today. This will be organizational meeting. Do no change into work-out clothes and do not bring any lacrosse equipment. Please meet coach in the lobby.

Girls Lacrosse will have their first practice today at 2:30. It will be an information meeting and a team run. Please be dressed to run outside. We will meet in the front lobby at 2:30

Softball tryouts will begin today in the gym from 4:30 to 5:30. Please bring all your equipment and sneakers.

There will be a brief informational meeting for all students interested in joining the outdoor track and field team today after school. All students that are interested should meet with Coach McCarthy and Coach Ouellet in the 7th grade common area at 2:30. If you cannot attend, please see Mr. McCarthy before the end of the day.

All 7th and 8th grade boys trying out for baseball should meet outside the gym changed for running outdoors at 2:25 this afternoon.

A reminder that the Winter Awards night is tonight @ 6:00 in the GMS Auditorium. This will also include the cheerleaders. Please be sure to tell your parents.

Sign-up sheets are on the cafeteria windows for anyone interested in playing 7th and 8th grade softball. Tryouts begin 4/7/08.

Other

Congratulations go to Courtney, Laura, Jackie, Jason, Syndey and Molly for winning a 2nd place trophy at this weekend’s Odyssey of the Mind State Tournament. We would also like to acknowledge the following students for their hard work representing Gorham Middle School: Joseph, Sam, Gage, Matt, Colin, Thomas, Lily, Aryn, Allyson and Morgan . Great Job Gorham!

There is a Student Council meeting today after school. Tomorrow is opening day at Fenway. Wear your Red Sox Colors to celebrate the day.

There will be no Culture Club today.

Yearbooks will be on sale for the final time at lunch today. The cost is $20.00. Orders will not be taken after today.

Congratulations to Forrest who finished in the top 15 for geography students in the State. The state winner was an 8th grader from Bangor.
