Sports
Boys Soccer-The 7th grade boys soccer team lost to Scarborough yesterday 4-0. No practice today. Away game Monday at Lyman Moore Middle at 3:30pm We will stop for food after the game. The bus will return Monday night at 7pm.
Girls Soccer-A nail-biting battle was waged on the soccer fields of GMS yesterday as the 7th grade Lady Rams took on Scarborough. Meghan “Crush-Your-Head” Cushing blasted a ball by the keeper for 1-0, however Scarborough muscled their way back to tie it up 1-1. The crowd gasped as one of the opposing players ninja kicked Abbie Laporte in the foot, but she used her wolverine-like healing powers to come back in the second half. The game was a defensive war for Gorham’s swarming “B’s” (Becca, Breanna, Bailey, and honorary “B”, Emily Berrill) who stuck their soccer stingers into the belly of the beasts. Adding to the defense-fest, goalies Olivia Curtis, Baked Ziti Speirs, Lexi Foster, and Emily “Bazooka Deny-ah” DeLuca blocked several shots on goal. Excellent work to all the girls on the team….
