Clubs

iTeam-Will have its first meeting after school on Thursday. Please meet outside of the library at 2:30.

CLAY CLUB-Clay Club begins Thursday after school in A108. Sign up today. There is no meeting today.

DANCE CLUB-The Dance Club will meet again this Friday after school until 4:00. Please arrange for a ride since there is no late bus on Fridays. It’s not too late to sign up for Dance Club. Please see 8th grader Meaghan Gilbert for more information.

Music

CHORUS-Chorus today is for all Altos.

BAND-Thursday Band Classes

8:30 Moose, Little River woodwinds & brass

SEUSSICAL-We are looking for stage crew members for Seussical. You don’t need experience, just time. There will be a sign up sheet on the cafeteria window. Talk to Kristen Ross if you have any questions. Listen to announcements for the first meeting. MUSICAL-There is no musical rehearsal today.

Other

Election ’08-This November 3rd will be election day for the students and staff of GMS. Monday afternoon in the Library there will be poster making. This is your chance to tell other classmates who to vote for. All are welcome.

STUDENT COUNCIL-The Student Council fundraising box for the animal shelter is now available. Put any blankets, towels, sheets, food or anything you think will help the animals in the box. To help support the animals Student Council will be selling “Beary Special” Bears to benefit the Animal Refuge League till October 20th. The bears cost $10.00 and all proceeds will go to the shelter. Don’t forget to get your Beary Special Bear this week.

STUDENT COUNCIL DANCE – Come join us at the dance this Friday, October 3rd from 7-9. There will be a DJ and lots of great food. The cost is only $5.00 and tickets can be bought at lunchtime on Friday. Buy your ticket at lunch and be entered into the free drawing for a cool prize, one for each grade level. Come and have FUN.

NWEA-Testing is postponed this morning until further notice. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Sports

GIRLS SOCCER-The 7th grade girls soccer team creamed their Bonny Eagle rivals with an impressive 7-0 victory. Emily “Domination” DeLuca had 2 goals, as did Megan “No Beggin” Cushing. Abby “The Chocolate Labby” Laporte also scored 2. Rozada “Baked Ziti” Speirs locked in one as well. Amazing assists were on display featuring Shelby Stack-attack, Katie “The Rugged Lady” Tucker, and Jess “Rex-in-effect” Rexrode who was like a rocket the entire game. Congratulations to the whole team for a job well done.

BOYS SOCCER-The 7th grade boys soccer team played a great game yesterday defeating Bonny Eagle 4-1. Austin Bell started the scoring with a beautiful shot assisted by Dylan Turner. Tyler Eldridge scored an amazing diving header courtesy of Colin Harvey. Austin Bell and Dylan Turner finished off the scoring for the Rams with excellent shots. Matt Melton and Colby Smith played exceptional in goal. Great Job Team... Practice today 2:30-4:00.

The 8th grade boys soccer team defeated Bonny Eagle yesterday 5-0. Goals were scored by Mike Caron, Kyle Curley with 2, Nate Roop, and My Little Pony.
