MEA testing, March 9-13, 2009

Tips for Students:

Don't do all your studying the night before the test.

Make sure that you put your first and last name on the test.

Read the entire question before you answer it.

Cover up the multiple choice answers with your hand while you read the question.

Look for keywords among the answers, or in the question.

Eliminate answers that are probably wrong.

Answers with words, like "always" or "never" are often wrong answers.

“None of the above" is usually a wrong answer.

Bring at least two pencils with good erasers.

Write clearly, neatly.

Answer all parts of the question.

Look over your test when you are finished, if you have time left.

Check your work before you hand in the answer sheet.

Tips for Parents:

Be sure your child gets enough sleep, and is on a regular schedule, for several days before the test dates.

Eating well can ensure the right type of energy for clear thinking, coping with stress, and for assuring test-taking endurance.

Being at school, and on time, always important, is critical on test-taking dates.

Talking to your son or daughter about the importance of this test will show your support for his/her effort and achievement.
