Due to MEA’s the band classes this morning are cancelled. There is Wind Ensemble for any available wind ensemble students at 11:15.

Congratulations to the 6th grade chorus students for a fabulous honors festival concert on Saturday!

Congratulations to all 7th and 8th grade honors festival students for an amazing concert last night in South Portland. Great Job Everyone!

Student Council will meet today after school.

Don’t forget the Pennies for Patients competition starts today. Student Council reps please empty your homeroom boxes, count up during your tutorial, and bring your total, plus the coins, to Mrs. Pastore’s room. Winning rooms will get a pizza party, or make your own sundae party, at the end of the fundraiser. Thanks for your support.

Sports

Congratulations to the cheerleaders for winning first place at Sunday’s competition. Way to go girls! Please return all uniforms to Mrs. Pastore’s room by Wednesday.

This past Saturday the girl’s indoor track team defeated Wescott and lost to Lincoln. Scores were Lincoln 90. Gorham 83 and Wescott 55.
The boys team lost a close three-way meet. Scores were Wescott 101, Lincoln 84 and Gorham 80. The junior and intermediate relays were also victorious. Mandatory Practice today at 2:30.

“Knee How” Miss Lily, our exchange teacher from China, is waiting for you in the Chinese Culture Club. We’ll meet on Mondays, beginning March 10th from 2:30 – 4:00 in room A135. Lily will share real Chinese names, Chinese songs, and more. This club is limited to the first 15 who sign up on the sheet outside the cafeteria. Looking forward to seeing you all in the club!

Power Up will meet tomorrow in Ms. Ridge’s room from 2:30 to 4:00. Everyone is welcome.


Video Game Day Process of elimination tournament, April 12th, 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. 24 players max per game, $10.00 per registration fee required. Someone will be at GMS every Wednesday from now until the 12th to collect money from 7:15 to 7:45. Location: Gorham Rec Building, Gray Road, Rt. 202 Near Rotary. Call Deb Scogin at 839-7383 with any questions – Proceeds benefit Project Graduation 2008.

The Math Team practice moved to today will not meet. We will meet Wednesday as planned.

Yowza! Let’s go to the hop. The sock hop dance is this Friday from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm. $5.00 per person. Dress like a Pink Lady or a Greaser and enter the costume contest. We will crown a king and queen and we will have special guests – The Rondells from the school musical! See you at the hop!
