Greyhound fund raiser.

Congratulations to all involved in Friday's Step-Up Dance. It was a huge success. Over 450 students attend. There were 100+ fifth graders. Special thanks to the Village School staff for helping to promote the event to the fifth graders. The incoming sixth graders were very comfortable here as they danced the night away. It was wonderful to see how excited they (and their parents) were to be at GMS. The middle schoolers made them feel very welcome. The students especially enjoyed the greyhounds, ice cream, cha cha slide, limbo and moon bounce. The successful event raised $2000 for the Maine Greyhound Placement Service, and even better news, it also may have helped to place a greyhound. Greg Morton is seriously considering adoption. Special thanks to Jodi Lemieux for helping to plan the event, and for arranging for the beautiful greyhounds, also to Sue Adolf and Michael Lortie from Village, the kids loved seeing their familiar faces. Surely we could not have done it without the GMS staff chaperones, Michelle Cyr, Sue Moses, Chris Mitchell, Janis Weed, Jess Broda, Mr. G, Greg Morton, Sarah Rubin, Linda Townsend, and Dawn York, and of course Bob and Susie. Thanks to all who sent in baked goods. Again thanks so much to all! What a great way to end the year, most successful dance ever. Donna Pastore, Student Council advisor.
