Clubs
The Thai Culture Club will be meeting after school in the ETEP room which is in the Allied Arts wing of the school. All participants come to the office at 2:25.
There will be no Clay Club on Tuesday.
Math Team is competing tomorrow in Biddeford. There will be practice Tuesday morning as usual. Bring in your permission slips to compete. The team will be leaving early @ 1:50 pm
Music
Band-Monday band classes.

Once Upon a Mattress-Practice after school until 4 pm is FULL DRESS rehearsal for cast & crew.

MEA Testing-Due to MEA makeups the library will be closed all morning throughout lunch and tutorial. The library printer will be shut off until lunch. Sorry for the inconvenience.
The Drama Odyssey of the Mind Team will meet with Mrs. Knott after school today. Please come to her office after dismissal.
No Student Council today and yellow permission slips need to be returned to Mrs. Pastore by Wednesday for the Student Council conference.
Student Council reps please bring your pennies down this morning or during your tutorial today.
There will be a short History Day Meeting on Tuesday in Mr. Carpenter’s office. Please bring questions.
Sports
Swimming Accolades to the 10 GMS students who participated in the 2009 Maine State YMCA Swimming Championship, February 28 – March 1. Their team The Portland YMCA Pine Tree Polar Bears finished 3rd out of 16 teams. Participating were:
6th Graders
Krista Boylen, Sage Collins, Logan Letourneau, Allison McFeat, Blanca Monson –who placed 5th as part of 200 yard freestyle relay, and Timmer Sposato who placed 4th swimming Fly in the 200 yard medley relay.
7th Graders
Gabby Bagala, Ashley Clark-who placed 7th in the 200 freestyle, and Caleb Goodall who placed 7th in the 50 freestyle and was part of the 1st place State Champion 200 yard Freestyle Relay.
8th Graders
Nick Lewis also swam to a 7th place finish as part of a 200 free relay.
In addition, 2 GMS swimmers swam at this past weekend’s USA Swimming State Championships as part of the Westbrook Seals Swim Club. 6th Grader Megan Thomsen and 8th Grader Lindsey Thomsen both had great swims including Megan’s 5th & 6th place finishes as part of the 200 yard freestyle and 200 yard medley relay and Lindsey’s 11th place finish as part of a 400 yard medley relay.
7th Grader Caleb Goodall will also be competing in this weekend’s YMCA New England’s Regional Swimming Championship meet to be held at Boston University.
